Gaylí – A Pride Celebration with Shanvaghera
Irish music in London’s Irish Centre for a special Irish ceilí for London Pride!
Shanvaghera are delighted to announce we will be playing traditional Irish music at the London Irish Centre, in Camden, for a special Irish ceilí – a Gaylí! – for London Pride weekend. This special event will be on Saturday 29th June 2024. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are on sale now.
We’re really pleased to be helping to bring Irish music in London into the Pride weekend celebrations as part of this London Irish Centre event. This ceilí is in celebration of LGBTIQA+
We will be joined for this one-off by renowned Irish set dancer and ceili caller Irene Martin, who will take everyone through the dances. Alongside Shanvaghera will be stalwart of the London Irish music scene, Christian Vaughan-Spruce on accordian. Christian plays with the band Hungry Grass.
Please do book your tickets early for this ceili, as it is sure to sell out quickly.
The London Irish Centre said:
“In celebration of Pride, we have joined forces with one of the best Irish Traditional Music Bands, Shanvaghera, for a Gaylí!
Shanvaghera will perform 2 x 45 minute sets, guided by the ever effervescent Irene Martin (featured set dancer in Brendan Gleeson’s Farewell to Hughes), who will be your caller for the evening.
Joining Shanvaghera for an exclusive performance in LIC’s own London Irish Community Voices Choir. This is an all-inclusive event for all ages, all genders and for all-round entertainment.”
